The vision according to Isaiah 48:15-17

Isaiah 48:15-17 is a passage from the Old Testament book of Isaiah, in which the prophet speaks about God’s vision for his people. Here is the text of Isaiah 48:15-17 in the New International Version of the Bible: “I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.”

In this passage, God is speaking through the prophet Isaiah and says that he has called his people for a specific purpose. He will take hold of their hand and guide them in righteousness. The Lord also says that he will make his people a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles. 

This means that God’s people will serve as a witness to the nations, helping to bring the light of God’s truth to the Gentiles, who were non-Jewish people. Additionally, the Lord says that he will open the eyes of the blind and free those who are captive and in darkness. Overall, this passage speaks to God’s desire to bring his people closer to him and use them as instruments of his grace and truth to the world around them.

God took me straight to Isaiah 48: 9, 15-17, & 21 (indeed the whole Chapter was read over and over) as I struggled to comprehend this message that was to turn my destiny direction forever.

Like a thunderbolt, v9 hit me like I was face to face with my Redeemer. It states For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

I was in shock as the whole drama episode that happened earlier in the evening began to play back in my mind. Was I about to be cut off? I managed to put myself together and continued reading.

The purpose and the reason for the open trance or vision unfolded in v15-17.. I, even I, have called him, it was impressed on me.  The divine invitation went further as if to strongly drive home what I was into; states in v16.. Come ye near unto me … and 16c of the verse as a confirmation stated and NOW the Lord God and His Spirit, hath sent me.

This was closely followed by the Message/Mandate of what the call entailed.. v17 I am the one that teacheth thee to PROFIT, which leadeth thee by the WAY that thou should go. In clear terms Go teach my people to PROFIT through the WAY/word of faith. First thing next morning, I rushed to my pastor who immediately enrolled me in the Word of Faith Bible Institute in Kaduna, Nigeria.

In a few months, this will be 23 years of God’s call upon my life. To the glory of God, this gave birth to Covenant Faith Ministry International on 5 May 2016 in London, United Kingdom.  The greatest thing you can give to anyone is not money but salvation.

Prayer: John 6:37-38…all that the father has given me will come unto me….not to do my will but the will of Him who sent me.
